About

The Franklin County Lacrosse Club is dedicated to organizing, developing, and promoting the sport of lacrosse within Franklin County, Virginia, the Smith Mountain Lake area, and the surrounding communities.

In March of 2012, the club started.  The boys’ club had more than 30 players participate.  Jump forward to Spring 2014, and Franklin County High School fielded the first lacrosse teams in school history.  Go Eagles! In the Fall of 2014, the club fielded six boys teams for boys age 6 to 18.  The club had 88 participants.  The boys played 7-on-7 games each Sunday afternoon in September and October in Roanoke.  Practices were held twice a week. During the Winter 2014/2015, the club offered box lacrosse for interested players on Sundays in January through early February.

The Club seeks to emphasize the values of scholastic achievement, sportsmanship, team spirit, and healthy competition.

Fall 2015 and 2016 seasons, we had over 100 boys playing on seven teams.

Our 2016 Spring youth teams covered the U7-U13 age groups (players under 13 years old).

In the past, we  have had U15/JV and Varsity teams in the Fall since the high school programs are not in season.

We follow the US Lacrosse age groupings. They can be found here: Age Groups
